IAAH Partnership with International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS)

On Sunday March 4th, 2018 the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS) and its campaign partners – including IAAH – will be marking the first ever International HPV Awareness Day. This follows the IPVS conference In South Africa last year, during which they declared March 4th as “International HPV Awareness Day” to promote awareness of and education around HPV infection, how it spreads, and how to prevent it.

The message to ‘give love’ is not just about sex – it reflects the love that everyone can share with friends and family to help them to protect themselves, prevent transmission, and get testing and treatment if needed.

For our adolescent and young adult health community, we know that HPV vaccination rates vary widely across different countries and that only a handful of countries are routinely vaccinating boys. Increasing vaccination coverage for today’s adolescents offers the best chance of them avoiding HPV infection and its consequences.
