Asha Pemberton

MBBS, DM(Paed)

Asha Pemberton is an associate lecturer at the University of the West Indies and a consultant paediatrician and adolescent health specialist in clinical practice. She completed her medical degree and paediatric residency at the University of the West Indies, and pursued clinical fellowship in adolescent medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)/University of Toronto. Over the last 9 years, Pemberton has served as a consultant to various regional Ministries of Health and larger regional non-governmental organizations on projects in the areas of adolescent health service delivery, policy, adolescent mental health, and the prevention of violence and sexual violence against girls and young women. In Trinidad and Tobago, her research and clinical interests include adolescent mental health services, the development of sustainable adolescent friendly health-care in the Caribbean and strategies to prevent child abuse and sexual violence against girls and young women.
