International Adolescent
Health Week (IAHW)

International Adolescent Health Week (IAHW) is an annual grassroots initiative that brings together young people, healthcare providers, teachers, parents, advocates, and communities to celebrate adolescents and promote their health and well-being.

Lime green, the official color of International Adolescent Health Week, represents the high energy and passion of adolescents, attributes which are highly admired, and also represents health, happiness, freshness, and vitality.

OUR VISION

IAHW aims to improve the lives of over 1 billion adolescents worldwide.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to empower young people and their communities to champion a healthy, confident, and successful journey into adulthood.

OUR STORY

International Adolescent Health Week (IAHW) was founded by Dr. Laura Offutt, MD, FACP, a member of the International Association for Adolescent Health (IAAH).
Originally launched in the United States as Teen Health Week in 2016, it has since grown into a global initiative through the collaborative efforts of adolescents, adults, schools, and organizations around the world.

Today, IAHW is officially hosted and administered by the International Association for Adolescent Health, with leadership from its members and in partnership with the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM). This annual observance aims to inspire action and investment in adolescent health on a global scale.
