YOUR ROLE AS COMMITTEE MEMBERs
IAHW Committee Members serve in an advisory and mentorship capacity, providing strategic support, technical review, and constructive input to Youth and Senior Youth Ambassadors. The role focuses on strengthening the quality, relevance, and impact of IAHW activities while building youth leadership and capacity.
1. Support to Youth and Senior Youth Ambassadors
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to Youth and Senior Youth Ambassadors in planning and implementing IAHW activities.
- Assist ambassadors in problem-solving and decision-making related to program implementation.
- Encourage inclusive, youth-led, and rights-based approaches across all activities.
2. Technical Input and Strategic Advice
- Provide expert input based on professional experience (e.g., adolescent health, SRHR, mental health, HIV, nutrition, digital health).
- Advise on evidence-based approaches, innovative strategies, and best practices for youth engagement.
- Support alignment of activities with national and global adolescent and youth health frameworks.
3. Mentorship and Capacity Building
- Mentor Youth and Senior Youth Ambassadors to strengthen leadership, advocacy, and program management skills.
- Support capacity-building efforts through coaching, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and empowering learning environment for youth leadership development.
4. Collaboration and Communication
- Participate in coordination meetings with the IAHW organizing team as needed.
- Facilitate linkages between Youth Ambassadors and relevant networks, partners, or technical experts when appropriate.
- Promote respectful and effective intergenerational collaboration between youth and adult stakeholders.
who can join?
To join the IAHW Global Committee, you must:
- Be over 25 years old
- Be a professional, expert, or advocate in youth or adolescent health
- Be actively working with young people in your country
- Have relevant experience in health, education, policy, research, or advocacy related to adolescents
- Be able to communicate effectively in English, our working language
