Fadia S. AlBuhairan
MD, MPH, PhD
Fadia AlBuhairan is a Professor of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine. She is the pioneer of Adolescent Health in the MENA region, where she provides clinical care, education, research, and advocacy. Fadia is currently Senior Advisor at the Health Sector Transformation Program in Saudi Arabia which is strategically addressing the country’s health system redesign. She is serving her second term as a member of the Strategic and Technical Advisory Group of Experts (STAGE) on Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health and Nutrition advising the WHO on related matters and is the Immediate Past President of the Arab Coalition for Adolescent Health and Medicine. She has previously held several leadership roles in the public, private, and non-profit sectors and serves on multiple committees, councils, and boards nationally and internationally. Fadia’s research has generated the evidence to inform policy and programming in Saudi Arabia. She obtained her Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine from the University of Toronto and SickKids Hospital; she thereafter obtained a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University and PhD in Public Health from Maastricht University.
She is the recipient of the prestigious 2020 Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine International Chapter and Regional Awards.
