Melissa Kang
MBBS, MCH PhD
Melissa Kang is a primary care physician specialising in youth health, and an associate professor at the Sydney Medical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. She has worked closely with policy makers, universities, professional colleges and a range of non-government organisations for over 20 years to support education and training of professionals who work with adolescents and young adults. She has led and collaborated in research studies into health services, access, health system navigation and adolescent friendly models of care, as well as research into adolescent sexuality and sexual health. She was the President of the Australian Association for Adolescent Health from 2015 to 2020. Melissa has also co-written several books for adolescents about aspects of puberty and about consent. She was the lead editor on the first Australian textbook on Youth Health and Adolescent Medicine.
